Vineyards & Winery

Kim Gorman

Kim grew up in Niagara-on-the-Lake surrounded by vineyards and the wine industry. Wanting to be a part of the industry, but not wanting to specialize right out of high school, she earned her Honours B.Sc. in Food Science from the University of Guelph before going to Brock University for a Certificate in Grape and Wine Technology. With her education, she has been lucky enough to participate in vintages in California, Australia, and New Zealand also gaining long term employment in the Niagara Region in Ontario, and the Okanagan Valley in BC. Now, ready for a new adventure, Kim has ventured to Nova Scotia to take her place as Winemaker at Annapolis Highland Vineyards. She can be found in the winery singing along with the radio (and occasionally dancing if the song calls for it) while working hard to make sure everything is as it should be. It's not "all work and no play" for her, though. She also plays the piano, enjoys reading, plays cards, and is a bit of a movie buff.

Danny Brehaut, Vineyard Team and Wine Label Artist

Danny came to the Vineyard in 2011 after retiring from a Hospital lab manager position. He began working at AHV performing field work and has continued to gain experience in all aspects of the vineyard. Danny enjoys the physical aspect of the vineyard and is often accompanied by his border collie 'Cheeky' as he works in the vineyard and 'talks' to his vines. In the off season Danny spends his time persuing his interest in watercolour painting of landscapes and images of personal interest and portrait pieces. His particular style has gained him many accolades and as a result he has sold numerous pieces across Canada and around the world. Come see Danny's art in person on display in our Winery Store, or online at
